Lyman Named Risk Manager at Gilroy Kernan & Gilroy

David W. Lyman has joined the Gilroy Kernan & Gilroy insurance agency in New Hartford as risk manager in the firm's Commercial Lines department.

He will provide a comprehensive range of loss control services to Gilroy Kernan & Gilroy's business clients, including safety program review, risk and ergonomic assessment, building evaluation, accident investigation, loss analysis and return-to-work programs.

Lyman's career in loss control spans 18 years and most recently included serving as senior risk control consultant with PMA Insurance Group of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. There he developed and implemented a variety of safety-related programs and processes, including behavior-based safety programs for clients across the United States. Prior to joining PMA he was safety and training manager for Rome Cable Corporation of Rome, New York, where he created and initiated safety programs for four manufacturing facilities.

He holds a degree in agricultural engineering from the State University of New York at Morrisville.

Lyman and his wife Cindy and their children reside in Rome.
